Becoming nothing.

Yesterday as a bunch of us gathered to share a meal Christ visited with us. I saw him clearly in the face of a man who had been robbed of his most precious possession, sticking out his hand in welcome and forgiveness to the man who had robbed him, inviting him to come and share in the meal. That man shone with the light of Christ. The healing of that action blanketed the room in which we met, and as I bowed my head in quiet worship a strange thing happened to my heart. I was humbled by the grace of that action. Knowing that I would not have had the same mercy and grace if placed in the same situation. I wanted to ask him where he had found that, but in thinking further I knew that he had poured out himself so that Christ could be present in him, and that in placing his hand in the hand of that other man, he had opened the gates of heavens healing. That sacrifice on his part opened the door for the rest of us to feel the healing of His presence as well.
That was Christ. There is so much to praise Him for. So much hope for more of that healing as we turn to Him.

Take these hands
And lift them up
For I have not the strength to praise You near enough
See, I have nothing
I have nothing without You
And take my voice and pour it out
Let it sing the songs of mercy I have found
For I have nothing
I have nothing without You
And all my soul needs is all Your love
To cover me, so all the world will see
That I have nothing without You
Take my body and build it up
May it be broken as an offering of love
For I have nothing
I have nothing without You
And all my soul needs is all Your love
To cover me so all the world will see
That I have nothing
That I love You, yeah
With all my heart
With all my soul
With all my mind
And all the strength I can find
Take my time here on this earth
And let it glorify all that You are worth
For I am nothing
I am nothing without You
