The new fireplace

We've been working on renovating the front of our fireplace, trying to get rid of the 1970's style brick. Here is what it looked like this last Christmas. One of my attempts at getting a family picture.

So Dennis ripped out the old stone and repaired the gaping hole that caused with new drywall.

But not before we had one more fire to get rid of a few scraps of wood.

Because it's important to keep your work area tidy at all times.

This is the finished product which we got to enjoy by ourselves last night. Thanks to the Williams for having a party at their house so that ours wasn't full of teenage boys. :)
